About The Bunnies
I am hobbyist show rabbit breeder who shows all over the country, either at rabbit shows or as a private display at country shows, garden shows and family shows. The best place it is said to get a pet rabbit from is directly from a private hobbyist show rabbit breeder. However, it should also be remembered when looking to home a pet rabbit that many rescue centers also have rabbits looking for new homes. Any money that my rabbits generate goes back in to the care and upkeep of the stud. I have been a member of the British Rabbit Council for over 23 years and a member of the Rabbit Welfare Association for over 7 years. I keep and breed eight types of rabbit, please see the details below. I also keep a Belgian Hare, an English Lop, a Continental Giant cross,a Himalayan and a Argente Noir who make up the ‘Display Team’. Plus I have Spot and Red the house bunnies.

im000511orange_doe.jpgAgouti Lionhead DoeLionheads: I only breed and keep four colours: Agouti, Orange, Red Eyed White and Cinnamon and these are some of the best examples of the breed in the country; they are line breed to the highest standard for type, coat and mane. The rabbits have a good show life, usually in excess of 5 years. However it is the does that are shown as adults and I do not breed from these, instead choosing to use brood does for my new youngsters. The bucks do not have huge manes after 6 months, so they are only shown as youngsters after which they either stay with me as stud bucks or go to other breeders or new  pet  homes. Being the better tempered of the sexes and most of them being litter trained with the bonus of them being  very well handled  bunnies. They  make excellent house bunnies and pets.

French Lops: I only have a few Lops and they are really kept for my own enjoyment however I do occasionally show them. I purchased a trio (one buck and two does) about 17 years ago these are their descendants and I added a white buck l"Horatio" in 2007.  I have  kept an Orange Buck  called Hump from. Hump will be taking over from Heidi on the display team. He is like a big cuddley bear.
This breed make excellent house bunnies.

Dwarf Lops:  I now only have a few of these and am gradually replacing them with the slightly smaller Mini Lop.  Bart, my only show standard Dwarf Lop has recently retried. He is orange in colour and his black tipped guard hairs now donimate his coat.  With each moult he gets darker and he now fails the standard for his colour.  So he and his girlfriends will stay with me as pets until they pop their little bunny clogs, and hopefully produce me another Little Bart..........

 Bart, a dwaf lop

A Black Otter Netherland Dwaf buck-Dec Stacey Siamese Smoke netherland Dwarf plus litter or 2 babiesNetherland Dwarfs: back in the late 1990s this breed dominated my life. I then chose to concentrate on all the work that needed to be done with the Lionheads to have the breed accepted. So the Netherlands began to give way to generation after generation of Lionheads, produced to show to the Breed Standards Committee and achieve the standardisation of the breed. I still have a handful of Netherlands and I concentrate on breeding Smokes, Sables and Otters. Occasionally they do produce the odd Red Eyed White and most of the local magicians have a white bunny that is one of mine. I kept an Otter buck lin 2007and he has already won ten ‘best of breeds’ awards.I have two new hopefulls for the 2010 show season.

Lion Lops: Again I only have a handful of these. I have chosen to enhance the breed myself, which is a very slow process, especially when your key doe just will not breed! My first major show with Lion Lops was The Stafford Six Star Show, where I was very luck to win Best Under Five Months Other Variety Lop with a young Agouti doe called Mange Tout. She also made it on to the Victory Row Section and I hope that there will be many more successes to follow.

Fred, a yellow Dutch buck  Dutch: I still have my original buck, a Yellow, Dutch by the name of Fred who will be ten year this year. Thats one hundred years old in bunny years, but theres no stopping him and he became a dad again a few months ago!
Fred is now part of the display team and lives with Mrs Dibble.
I only keep a few of these breed, colours included Yellow, Blue, Black and Brown/grey.
Checkers Tri-Dutch

Tri-coloured Dutch: These are one of the hardest rabbits to breed for showing. In terms of show rabbits, not only do the Dutch markings need to be perfect but the colours within the markings do too. I probably have owned some of the best examples of this breed. The photographs are of Checkers – and yes he is real, I haven’t painted him! I have undertaken the repeat mating for him five times and haven’t yet managed to breed anything as wonderful as him yet. Checkers Tri-Dutch

Perry Mini Lop BuckMini Lops: These are ‘my babies’,   the darlings of the stud, always pleased to see you, always wanting a fuss and seeking attention. I show them under a stud prefix:  M. A. D. Stud,  quite fitting really.  I mainly show those with the butterfly pattern, again not an easy thing to do with a white patch in the wrong place earning a disqualification. I have Otters, Chocolates, Fawns, Sooty-Fawns, Oranges & Harlequins plus a few others.

And last but by no means least - ‘The Display Team’: There is an English Lop, a Belgian Hare, a Continental Giant cross, a Himalayan, and an Argente Noir. which together with one of each of the breeds above makes the full works.

And without further ado here are the members of ‘the Display Team’:
